Revatis is a Spin Off of the University of Liège, dedicated to regenerative medicine and cell therapy. Revatis is based on the scientific findings of Prof. D. Serteyn and Dr. J. Ceusters and has solid intellectual property and exceptional know-how.
Revatis has developed an innovative process to sample, isolate, differentiate and culture stem cells. These cells are characterized, available in sufficient quantity and express useful characteristics for R&D and clinical developments.
Yes, in collaboration with treating veterinarians, RevaTis offers several solutions for horses suffering from tendonitis. The treatment offered is always autologous, each horse is its own donor! PRP (platelet rich plasma) and / or stem cells (clinical trial) promote better and faster healing.
Yes, RevaTis offers several solutions for horses suffering from osteoarthritis. Depending on the joint, the severity of the disease, the veterinarian may use PRP (plasma rich in platelets) in combination with hyaluronic acid, autologous stem cells (clinical trial) to promote healing and hope for regeneration of the cartilage . In severe cases, he can also use Arthramid, a polyacrilamide gel that gives mechanical comfort to the horse.
All products and treatments have been validated and are subject to very strict quality controls ensuring perfect safety for the horse.
We talk about a heterologous or allogeneic cell product when the cells come from a donor and are injected into another horse, and an autologous product when we use cells from the same horse. On the basis of the most recent scientific data to limit rejection reactions, RevaTis has opted for an autologous approach. The cells of each horse are cultured, stored (bio-banking) and if necessary injected when a tendon or joint injury is detected.
A simple blood sample taken from specific tubes (Revatis kit) allows, after centrifugation, to obtain a plasma rich in platelets (PRP). These contain growth factors and anti-inflammatory molecules. PRP injected during tendonitis or into a joint modulates inflammation and promotes healing. It can be combined with hyaluronic acid or stem cells to enhance tissue regeneration.
The horse can be treated in a clinic, but your treating vet can also perform the treatments in the stable, in complete safety.
